Polystyrene Recycling FAQs

Polystyrene is collected into 1m3 bags. These bags are also available for businesses to use if required.

Collected polystyrene is processed on-site using our densifying equipment and turned into ingots that are reused as raw material for new polystyrene-based products, keeping it out of landfill and back into the circular economy.

There’s a minimum fee of $5 per drop-off, so even small amounts are welcome.

Ideally, yes clean polystyrene is preferred. We do accept dirty or contaminated polystyrene, but a contamination fee applies.

Public drop-off is available Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 9am-4pm, at our Tauranga site. Businesses can arrange drop-off outside these times with prior arrangement.

All polystyrene is processed locally on-site at our Tauranga facility, nothing is shipped elsewhere for processing.

We accept almost anything with a plug or batteries, laptops, desktops, phones, TVs, monitors, printers, small appliances, and more.

Many common items are free to drop off, including laptops, desktops, servers, mobile phones, tablets, routers, modems, cables, and lead-acid batteries. Other items have a small fee depending on type.
Yes. We offer certified data destruction for hard drives, SSDs, and phones, with a certificate provided for your records.
Yes, we can provide an asset register and downstream report for businesses that need it for compliance purposes.
